Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said he feels “very good” after scoring his 900th career goal.

Portugal beat Croatia 2-1 in Nations League Group A 1 on Thursday, giving Roberto Martinez’s side a three-point start.

After the game, the media did not miss asking about the feeling of scoring the 900th goal in CR7’s career, to which the 39-year-old star revealed that he was happy and that it was a special record for him.

“It means a lot. It’s a number I’ve wanted to get to for a long time. I know I can get to that number because I keep playing. It’s going to come naturally.

“But I have to highlight a great football game from both teams today.  I thought both teams did a great job. It was a great game. Portugal played very well. There were moments in the game where we knew we were going to struggle and that was very important.

“I think we deserved the win. We had more chances, had more possession. In my opinion, it was a great game.”

“It’s emotional because it’s an important record, as I said before. It like other important records, but only I know, and the people around me, how hard it was to get to this point.
